Chris Orcchio has a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston. He has spent time studying in Europe and is currently working out of his studio in New Jersey. Oricchio specializes in figurative sculpture. The majority of his commissioned work consists of life sized portrait busts and quarter to half life sized full figure sculptures. He works directly in terra cotta and casts his sculptures in various materials including bronze, plaster and clay. Oricchio also works with wood, metal and other materials to create abstract sculpture. In his abstract work he uses structural and formal design elements to make both functional and non functional work. In addition to his sculptural work, Oricchio also uses two dimensional media, making drawings with materials like graphite and charcoal.
